Markets publish an official close each day. End-of-day data is the series of those closes. It is enough to follow trends, returns and risk over weeks and months, though not to trade within a day.
Why it matters
For investors holding positions for weeks or longer, the daily close carries almost all the useful information. Real-time exchange data is licensed per user and costs much more.
General information, not advice.
