What it measures
The Australian dollar against a basket of trading partners' currencies, weighted by trade, daily at 4pm Sydney time. The RBA's daily table starts in 2023.
Why it matters
A broader read of the dollar than the US exchange rate alone; it is what matters for import prices and export competitiveness.
